It's better to be an authentic loser than a false success, and to die alive than to live dead.

William Markiewicz

------------------------------------

We have one shot at this life. You might as well give it your all. Because when it is over...it is over. Don't let others talk you out of being you and going for your goals. Don't let your own fears keep you from the journey of your destiny. It is better to fail trying to achieve a noble thing than to succeed in be in unkind, unjust, unmerciful, and unloving. Whatever you do, be true.

Laugh at yourself once in a while; give yourself a break.

Greg Evans
American Writer 1978-

-------------------------------

Don't take yourself so seriously. Learn to laugh at yourself; your differences, flaws, and even your mistakes. Laughing often is a good tool to keep us from crying when life seems to get too hard.

You do know that you do not have to be perfect....don't yo? You will make mistakes. You will disappoint others, and even your own self from time to time. Relax it. Take a deep breathe. Smile.....Doesn't that fell better. Now make smiling and laughter a habit. Even if it is you that you find yourself laughing at.

Quote

A real act of honesty is not enough to be honored by everyone, but being witnessed by you and God alone

Czeonollo

------------------------

We should not need an audience to do the right thing. Our motivation for doing what is right should not be so that others would see and pat us on the back for what we should do anyway. God is the sole judge. Him knowing of our good deeds, integrity, and honest ways should be enough for us. Do not seek the praises of men, but rather seek to praise God.

Quote

Life is no brief candle to me. It is a sort of splendid torch which I have got a hold of for the moment, and I want to make it burn as brightly as possible before handing it on to future generations.

George Bernard Shaw
1856-1950, Irish-born British Dramatist

==================

We each have a responsibility because of the gift of life that God has given to us. We each must play a part in making our brief stay here a positive experience for not only ourselves, but for those in our life. There are many ways to "burn" as candles, but they all equal one thing: love. We all have a responsibility to show love to one another, regardless of race, financial status, physical appearance, or ability for that love to be returned. And we must teach those who come behind us to do the same. You want a legacy to leave behind. Let it be said that you loved.

We must all suffer from one of two pains: the pain of discipline or the pain of regret. The difference is discipline weighs ounces while regret weighs tons.<br>

Jim Rohn

-------------------

It is far better to suffer from the pain that lies in disciplining ones self. That pain is far more bearable than the pain that comes from regret. Discipline involves a certain amount of focus, and self control. Many of you, as I have, already know whaat lack of discipline and self control bring. Many of us to this day are paying for things we have done many years ago. Things we wish we would have done differently. We can't change the past, but we can walk in discipline, starting on this day going forward.

The quality, not the longevity, of one's life is what is important.

Martin Luther King, Jr.

------------------------------

There are those that have lived long lives, but have little to show for it. It is not the accumulation of things that is the measure of a successful life. Rather, it is the degree to which one have loved others that is the true measure. That is what one can control.

What is the quality of your life? Are you making a positive difference in lives of those around you? Are you living your life as if it is a gift from God to be cherished. Or do you dred each day, as if each day is a day to go to the dentist?

Life...A gift from God. Love others.

The test of a man or woman's breeding is how they behave in a quarrel.

George Bernard Shaw
1856-1950, Irish-born British Dramatist

------------------

The behavior of a person in the midst of a quarrel can tell a lot about them. Do they cuss you out? Do they through things, or hit things? Do they resort to violence? Do they get queit?

I tell my son, who is now of dating age, to be on the look out for what the woman he is interested in does when she gets mad. I tell him it is an important thing to watch for.

What do you think?

Live the life you've dreamed

Henry David Thoreau

-------------------------

We all grow with an ideal of how our life should go. But something often happens in between our innocent dreaming days of youth, and our final destination. We loose site of our dreams, often for some temporary satisfaction. Before we know it we live our life by a series of temporary satisfactions.

Then one day we look up and say, "How did I get here? This is not at all the ideal that I had planned for my life."

We need to keep our eye on the goal. We can often live the life we dreamed, if we take the proper steps to achieve our dreams. And, of course, I am assuming that we are dreaming realistic dreams.

Let us no longer be side tracked by temporary fixes, and false notions of reaching our goals. We can live the life we dreamed of. IF...we take the proper steps to get there. One step at a time.

A man who views the world the same at fifty as he did at twenty has wasted thirty years of his life

Muhammad Ali

--------------------------

Life is journey. It is a journey of growth (hopefully. The road should teach us as we go. The further down the road we get we should be the wiser because of the experiences in our past travels.

Life's experiences has a way of teaching us, if we listen. For those that chose not to listen, they find themselves in the same spot years later, or just going around in circles. Don't waste your time. Learn what life is teaching so that tomorrow will find you progressing from today.

And as we grow our views change. Hopefully we learn that love is the principle thing. All the little stupid things we previously held in high esteem are found to be of little use. Where are you at in your views; 20 or 50?

We must all suffer from one of two pains: the pain of discipline or the pain of regret. The difference is discipline weighs ounces while regret weighs tons.

Jim Rohn

-------------------------

This is a quote that rings in my ears as a true statement. Self discipline is an important part of our character; or what should be part of our character. It causes us to control those urges that are not to help us, but rather will hurt us in the long run. Self discipline speaks to our minds and tells us that just because a thing says it is for us does not mean it is.

We do have those two choices. We can discipline our hearts, minds, and actions. Or we can have regrets that we did not discipline our hearts, minds, and actions. Each person has to make the choice.

Thought of life

What is life about?
Why are we here?
What happens when we die?
Is there a heaven and hell?
Do you believe in Jesus?
Am I saved?

Have you ever asked yourself any of those questions?
Have you ever answered them?

Tuesday, July 29, 2008

Don't question GOD, as he may say, if you are so eager for answers, then please come up.

Anonymous

----------------------

A lot of the things that happen in this life we have no answers for. We often look to God for answers, but receive silence in return. In this life we are limited by our understanding, and will never know all of the how's and why's.

The quote above is a funny one. We all want some answers, but don't really want to do what it takes to get them. The eyes of our understanding about many of the things that happen in this life will not be answered until this life is over for us. kind of ironic.

This shows a great need for faith, NOW.

Quote

Things turn out best for those who make the best of the way things turn out.

Jack Buck

------------------------

Life is not a perfect journey. There are peaks, and there are valleys. There are triumphs and there are failures. Everyone who consistently attempts to succeed will experience failures. Those who attempt nothing have already failed.

When your life comes to its end, and you look back it you will find that your successes were often achieved out of less than ideal circumstances. You will see that success could have easily been failure if you had given up; if you had stopped where others said you should stop.

When you find that things do not turn out the way you envisioned them, make the best of it. Then you will find your stength to turn things around. Then you will see some success.

Quote

The journey is the reward.

Chinese Proverb
Sayings of Chinese Origin

---------------------------------

Many people miss out on a lot of life because they look past the journey. We all come up with many goals in life. It could be that we want to become managers at work, own a company. It could have something to do with our weight, or health. It could be that we have some family goals.

Whatever the goal is, we usually can't wait to achieve it. We forget the gift of the journey. We don't usually look at it as a gift, but rather as a hardship to get us where we want to be. In so doing we miss out on many special moments in life. We get so focused on the finish line that we miss the great moments of the steps that it takes to get there. It is unfortunate.

There are some God given moments hidden in the journey that should be recognized as "rewards". It is in the journey that people grow closer together. It is in the hardships the love is truly shown.

Don't let the journeys of life pass you buy. Embrace them and enjoy them.

Words may show a man's wit but actions his meaning.

Benjamin Franklin
1706-1790, American Scientist, Publisher, Diplomat

----------------------------

Let me tell you something a man, a father figure told me. We were at a gas station one time. He drove. He got out and proceeded to fill the car up with gas. I sat in the passenger seat, and said, "I will pump the gas." I made no movement to open the door and get out. He told me that it was not necessary. I stayed in the car.

When he got in, he taught me a lesson I have not forgotten, and will never forget. This happened about 15 years ago. He told me that if I REALLY wanted help by pumping the gas I would not have just asked about it, but would have DONE something. I would have gotten out of the car and walked over to the pump, and put the gas in the car.

By the fact that I did not do that, he said, it showed him that I was not sincere in my desire to actually pump the gas, as I "pretended' that I wanted to do.

I tell you this because that same principle applies to life. Don't just talk about it; be about it. Like Nike said, "Just Do it".

Quote

We do not quit playing because we grow old, we grow old because we quit playing.

Oliver Wendell Holmes

--------------------------------------

This is good advise to take with you for those of you who are in your twenties. This is advice that might hit home for those of you who are in your thirties and upward.

Life does not end as we age. Sure it enters new seasons, but that does not mean that we let the flavor of life fade. We do not set aside the passion by which we once lived. We do not cast the dreams aside as though they can no longer be achieved because we are a few years older than when we birthed the dreams. Instead, we embrace them still, and continue moving forward. We inch ever so closer to those dreams, to make them a reality.

As I think about it, I do not EVER want to be in such a low state where dreaming seems useless......Play on!

Quote

The greatest glory in living lies not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall.

Nelson Mandela

South African Statesman - b 1918 - Nobel Prize Winner 1993

-----------------------------------------

Everyday life presents so many opportunities to fail or succeed. Each of us has fallen prey to both. The one, success, is desired. The other, falling (failure), is not desired. Falling is not always as bad as it may seem. We learn many valuable lessons in falling. The least of which is not the lesson that we need to rise.

Falling is not always bad. But staying down is. If you have fallen, make it a point to rise again. Those successful people that you admire are not people that have not fallen. They are people that have risen after the fall; often over and over and over again. I have heard it said that failure leads to success.

Don't feel bad everytime you fall. But just know that you must rise, dust yourself off, and continue down the road. There will you find success.

Quote

Life is change. Growth is optional. Choose wisely.

Karen Kaiser Clark

---------------------------------------------

It seems that life and change are running mates because there is always change in life. It seems that those who do not like change have a hard time with life. We are always saying, "remember when it was like...........". We don't really like change. As soon as we get used to the way things are....they change. A new learning process comes into play.

Each day brings new experiences and thus new changes to adapt to and overcome. One would hope that as we gain experience in change we can choose to learn from each experience, and grow from it rather than view it as a set back. The choice is ours.

If a man hasn't discovered something that he will die for, he isn't fit to live.

Martin Luther King Jr.
1929-1968, American Black Leader, Nobel Prize Winner, 1964

I believe that any person with any sort of passion about life will understand the statement Martin Luther King Said. There is so much in life that we try to "live" for. We set our hearts, affections, and time towards things that strike our fancy. But when it comes down to it, in most cases, a true test of something real worth to you is; are you willing to die for the thing. Ask yourself, "What am i willing to die for?".......Did you come up with ANYTHING?...Spouse? Kid(s)? Family? Friends? Money? Work? Spiritual belief?....What is it for you? Comment on this and let me know.
